New Years Resolutions ~ Fixing or Building?

Happy New Year (Floating on a bubble)

It’s that time of the year where New Years Resolutions are made.  Some are made loudly.  Others are made quietly for fear of not being achieved.

What we chose for our New Years Resolutions are things we figure we need to Resolve…a Problem…something we don’t like about ourselves.

Perhaps we need to lose a few pounds. Maybe it’s to quit smoking. Sometimes it’s to start doing something we think we SHOULD be doing.

No matter how you look at it, when you make these types of Resolutions you’re fixing something.

What if, instead of fixing something, you chose to build on something?

What is something you already do well at that you’d like to do better at?  What’s something you have a gift for that you could be sharing more?

Do you enjoy swimming? Could you resolve to swim weekly instead of randomly when you can fit it in?

Do you love to entertain?  Could you resolve to have friends over once a month?

Do you love to play music?  Could you take up a new instrument, or perhaps find people to play music with?

Your chances of achieving your Resolution go up significantly if it’s a Resolution you love.

For a change, your Resolution will be contributing to your JOY instead of your frustration.

Resolve to build on what’s already wonderful about You.  Build on a Strength, Talent or Gift.

Resolve to grow You and Your JOY!

Wishing You Joy and Prosperity in this New Year!

Life Is Too Short

Earlier this week I had a routine check up with the doctor that turned out to be not so routine.

There’s something “not quite right” that needs to be checked out.  So I’m getting it checked out on Friday.  BUT I won’t hear the results until the new year.

UGH!

First thing to set in?  Fear.  What if…

What if it’s something bad?  (And really…what if it’s not?)

I have to say this one gripped me for a bit, and I’m not entirely loose from it’s grip.

AND…

As with all Experiences that come across our path, there are no coincidences, so what’s the Gift?

What’s the Gift in this for me?

Life IS too short.

Life is too short to be sad and scared.

Life is too short to be so insanely busy you hardly have time to breathe.

It doesn’t matter if I live to be 102…Life IS too short to be wasting it on anything other than JOY!

Someone was sharing the other day that they were sad most of the time.  Nothing was truly bad in their life, but they woke up feeling sad most of the time.

Life is too short for that too!

It did bring me to an observation though.  When am I in a state of Peace?  What’s going on when I experience that?

Was it when I was being grateful for those things in my life?  That’s pretty good, but there have been times when what I had didn’t matter.  I AM grateful, and that IS a good feeling, but it didn’t necessarily bring me that Peace.

The one time I did reach that state of Peace was actually when I was experiencing Appreciation for myself.

The most recent instance of this was when I was noticing how I have recently been able to look at almost all of the people in my life and just feel love.  Just pure and honest love.

It didn’t matter that they did things differently than I do.  It didn’t matter that they pointed out I should be doing things like they do.  It didn’t matter that they were doing things the “hard way”.  None of it mattered.

All that mattered was that I loved them.  They’re exactly who and where they are supposed to be and I love them.

It was a truly amazing thing to be able to appreciate myself the way I usually appreciate others.

Life IS too short to feel anything other than Love…for others…and most of all for myself.

Love,

Velma

My blog posts both here and over at Welcome Changes Radio have been FILLED with typos over the past few days!

At first I was upset, and then I laughed.  I am a human being, and being a freedom loving human being, getting all up-tight about typos just doesn’t make sense to me.  I’m just grateful I have the fingers to type, the computer to type on, and the internet to share through.

It’s pretty amazing when you think about it!  The internet has made our world feel so small!  I love that I can connect with people on the other side of the world so easily!

In Canada we celebrated Thanksgiving last month, but thanks to the internet I get to be reminded of how wonderful it is to be alive once again.  Mind you, with all the Turkey talk on some of the boards I like to visit, I do wish I was sitting down to a meal with my whole family today!

It’s all good though.  I still receive the most important benefit of being in Gratitude.

So I’m grateful for the fact that I can create typos.  I’m grateful for the fact that I made it to 44 years!  (Check out my post from yesterday … Such A Beautiful Day … there’s something special for you there too.) I’m grateful for my health. I’m grateful for my family. I’m grateful for my dear friends. I’m grateful for our home.

I’m grateful for the new family member on the way!  No…I’m not pregnant.  We had a family discussion that we’d like to bring a dog into our family.  We put an application into an adoption agency last night.

Best of all, the really cool not-coincidence is that I’ll be interviewing Val Heart on Welcome Changes Radio next week!  (The details of the show will be out tomorrow.)  Val is an amazing Animal Communicator, and I’m excited to be talking to her.  Perfect timing for me and our family!  We’ve been talking for months about having her on the show.  I think it’s just so cool that she’s on right when we decide to bring a new little animal into our family!

Thank YOU for being a part of my life too!  Being able to connect here, thanks to the internet, is so special.

For my friends in the US, have a very Happy Thanksgiving.  For my friends around the world, have a beautiful day/evening/morning…whatever it is for you.

Such a Beautiful Day!

Happy Birthday Shaftora

My beautiful day actually started last night.

My Grandma (who’s in her 80’s) gave me a call to wish me a Happy Birthday.  We talked for about 30 minutes, and shared some laughs.  I told her some stories about some of the things we are experiencing with our son, including his broken finger and his distress with it.  Can’t play video games as well with a broken finger you know!

Then I check my Facebook accounts (I have two…private and public) and Birthday wishes were filtering from friends and family around the world.

I hopped out of the shower, and my birthday gift from my husband and son was sitting on the bed.  It was something I really REALLY wanted…one of those hand held blenders.  Mine pooched a long time ago, and I just didn’t get around to getting another one.  This one’s pretty fancy with multiple speeds, and looks heavy duty!

I’ve been paying more attention to nutrition with my quest to bring my body into balance this year.  I’ve been enjoying reading Nourishing Traditions and learning a lot.  Quite fascinating actually.

My husband took me out for a scrumptious breakfast after our workout.

The sun is shining, and we are supposed to get up to a balmy -13C today (which is quite beautiful after yesterday’s -38C with the wind chill).

All in all it’s been an absolutely FANTASTIC day!

And, as the tradition with just about everyone on the internet, I do have a Gift to share with you too.

If you head on over to http://welcomechanges.com/products-services you can use this coupon code (happy) to get 44% off of anything on the site.  That includes all the digital products (the whole TWO of them…Juicy Bites of Welcome Changes Ebook and JOY Journal Audio Program) and the coaching packages as well.  After all, it’s my 44th Birthday.  A Banner Year!

I am grateful for all the many blessings my life is filled with, and I’m reminded on a daily basis how beautiful my life truly is…even with all the bumps, curves and potholes.

Love,

Velma

PS ~ The Coupon Code of “happy” will be valid until midnight November 30th, so don’t wait too long to take advantage of it.

PPS ~ This is the first time I’ve offered a coupon on coaching packages too.  You could save over $1100!  (It will give you 44% off of the monthly payment plan for 6 months as well.)

An after I published PPPS ~ I goofed…it won’t work for the subscription, but if that’s what you need, I’ll still give you the 44% discount. We’ll just have to process this another way.

Managing Your Energy–Simple Works Great!

I posted at one of my favourite forums today.  Someone was asking for affirmations they could use when they were worrying about someone else’s need for a manifestation.

Thought the information may be of value to other people, so I’m sharing it here.

These are more than just to support you with a worry.  They should and easily could be part of your daily processes.

Enjoy!

Random Thoughts of Kindness Barnstar

All is well.  And it always is.

Things always work out for me.

Look for evidence in your life where things HAVE worked out.

Do kind things for yourself.

Write 5 Gratitudes per day.

Take 5 Deep Breaths.

Thank the Universe for working in the background for you.

Choose a celebration for when [fill in the blank] happens.

Laugh more.

Remember…managing your energy is not complicated.    Simple works GREAT!
