Wise Women Event with AskNancy.com

I’ve been plurking with gathering my materials for the Wise Women Event being hosted by http://AskNancy.com. The line-up of speakers is amazing! I’m thrilled beyond measure to be one of the speakers at this event.

When I spoke with Nancy, she informed me that her desire was to create an event that would provide women (Mothers, Daughters, Sisters and Friends) with the tools and resources to claim their own power. This is my interpretation anyway.

If you are in the Calgary Area, please do come and play. There’s going to be a room full of beautiful and inspiring women…both speaking and in the audience.

I went to the local restaurant for a coffee with my hubby and my son. Well, our son wasn’t too impressed with this, but we enjoyed it.

Picked up the Calgary Sun to browse through it, and I saw a picture of my friend, Nancy Taipale. I had to, of course, find out why she was in the paper, and lo and behold, my name was in the paper too!

What an awesome surprise!

I know this doesn’t appear to have anything to do with what I usually discuss, however, body health is something wonderfully connected to JOY, and I do whatever I can to keep my body Joy-full too!

I love love love my Vitamix, and use it regularly. They have the most delicious recipe for Spinach Soup on the site. Yes, I make soup in my Vitamix!

One of my favourites is a carrot apple drink. It’s not juice, because all the fibre is still there.

Horse Whispering for Change

I have a wonderful guest coming up for Welcome Changes Radio. She’s scheduled for August 11, 2009. It’s being pre-recorded. I have a special event I’m creating for the weekend before, so this is to make my life easy. I love KISSING my life. 😉

Anyway, the special guest I‘m speaking of is Liz Mitten Ryan.

Liz Mitten Ryan I set up 99% of my shows over the phone rather than through email. It makes things so much easier with accidental double booking and such, and it gives me a chance to get a feel for the guests!

She has some workshops coming up. I’m strongly considering going to one myself! Well worth checking out.

Also check out the videos, as well as her beautiful art. She allows you to use some of her pictures for wallpaper on your computer. I just put one up on mine.

I also took some time to read through her book. When it showed up, the book insisted on being read.

The book itself is absolutely beautiful, both in appearance and content.

She’s interspersed the story with pictures of her horses as well as her Ranch. Her paintings she’s shared inside are absolutely amazing.

If you are able to feel energy, to me, the book felt peaceful and grounded.

I’m looking forward to her show. I hope you can come!

Interviewing for Recording of JOYtastic Women

The domain has been bought, but nothings up there yet.

Some speakers have agreed to play too.

I’ve been interviewing videographers and producers over the past two days, and it has been wonderfully interesting process! I am learning a lot. And I’ve had my eyes roll into the back of my head a lot too!

One camera or two. Do I rent audio equipment separately. What’s the lighting like in the location? What do I want with respect to post-production?

So many excellent questions. So many quiet moments on the phone. LOL…OK, not really. Rarely are there quiet moments on the phone with me. (As my Mom…LOL)

What I do want is to have something available for participants so they have follow up after the event.

I’ve been to so many wonderful events, and while I always gave myself permission to walk away with one or two great things from each event, there were times afterwards that I wish I had a photographic memory. I felt I was ready for some of the information I didn’t retain.

I’m toying around with creating a sort of membership site for after the event, where the videos of the event are streaming. That way, the participants could go back and pick out new pieces to play with, and it would be included in the tuition. I haven’t fully decided on this, and would love to hear opinions on this thought.

I will, of course, be making DVD’s available after the event too. Not everyone wants to sit at their computer. 🙂

One of the people I interviewed said making HD video downloadable can be done too. Hmmmm…instant gratification for those who have high speed internet. Maybe.

Streaming? Download? DVD? If you knew it was something you really wanted to have access to, which would you pick?

Allowing the creative ideas to come in, and I’ll plurk with them. (play+work=plurk)
